December 2024
Dear Family & Friends,
December was another busy month for us. We were blessed to spend Sunday, December 1st, at our home church and the rest of the week in revival services at Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church in Calico Rock, AR. We then left early Saturday morning and dropped Benjamin off at the airport in Little Rock, as he made his way down to Kissimmee, FL to preach and sing at Campbell City Baptist Church, and the rest of us went on down to preach and sing in Odem, TX at Bible Baptist Church. Praise the Lord there was a young lady who trusted Christ in one of the services at Odem. The next morning, January 9th, we drove up to Dallas, TX and picked Benjamin up at the airport before heading to Blessed Hope Baptist Church in Alvarado, TX for Missions Conference. It was a great meeting. Pastor Lindsey took up a special offering for us, which paid off the remaining balance from the money we borrowed to take our mission trip to Papua New Guinea, and they took us on for monthly support, Praise the Lord! The boldness of faith demonstrated by the people of Blessed Hope has made them a very unique church with a big heart for missions. That Friday morning, we left Texas and made our way over to North Georgia. Sunday, December 15th, we sang in the morning service at Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Cohutta, GA and sang and preached in the evening service at White Graves Baptist Church in Ranger, GA. December 22nd, we sang and preached at Gospel Light Baptist Church in Lineville, AL. We were blessed to be part of their Christmas dinner and activities that afternoon. We also had the privilege of dropping in on Faith Baptist Church in Pell City, AL and enjoyed their Christmas special singing service. We then drove to Mississippi and spent a couple of days with family for Christmas before heading out to Fellowship Baptist Church in Maryville, TN for their annual youth meeting on that Friday and Saturday. We had a cancelation on Sunday, December 29th, so we were able to spend the day with the kind folks at Ridge Road Baptist Church in Hiram, GA. Praise the Lord, there was a first-time visitor saved in the evening service! We finished out the month on Tuesday, December 31st at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Fairview, NC. They are right in the middle of the devastation from Hurricane Helene. Please continue to pray for them as they are still trying to recover from the effects of the storm. There is a great need in their area for heavy equipment and equipment operators. Many of the bridges and culverts that were washed away during the storm were repaired or replaced by volunteers in an emergency temporary fashion. Because of that many of those culverts and bridges have since failed due to subsequent rainfall.
We are currently at home in Arkansas, awaiting a snowstorm that should be starting within the hour. We are thankful to be home and look forward to being at our home church this coming Sunday. We will be heading out for nearly 6 months this next week. Please continue to pray for safety as we travel and for us as we plan our Mission Trip to Maine this coming August. We look forward to being with many of you throughout the year.
